The Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards Card gives cardholders the chance to earn up to five Thank You points for every dollar spent on purchases at gas stations, supermarkets, and drugstores for twelve months. One thank you point per dollar is also earned on any other purchases. After the initial twelve month period, cardholders are able to earn one point per dollar on drugstore, gas station, and supermarket purchases. Thank You points can be redeemed for things like travel rewards, gift cards, electronics, and sporting events. While the regular Citi Diamond Preferred Card and the Citi Dividend Platinum Select Card do not offer rewards, the Platinum card does offer a cash back program. 2 percent cash back is offered on gas station, supermarket, and drug store purchases, as well as purchases at convenience stores and payments for cable and utilities. Any purchases made through the Citi Bonus Cash Center, which houses over 400 different retailers, will earn an average of 5 percent cash back. While the Citi Diamond Preferred Card does not offer rewards or cash back, it does offer discounts on travel, gift cards, merchandise and more.

The Dividend Platinum card offers 18 months of zero interest but only on balance transfers. There is no annual fee for any of these cards, but keep in mind to qualify for any one of these cards you will have to have excellent credit. Other benefits of the Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards Card include extended warranty protection and retail purchase protection. It also offers price protection, meaning any purchase made on your card that you find cheaper in print within 60 days of the purchase date will qualify for a refund of up to $250 of the difference in price. You can also choose to pay your bill at the beginning, middle, or end of the month with the flexible payment plan provided by the card. Also included in the Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards Card is Automatic Travel Accident Insurance and Auto Rental Insurance, as well as Travel and Emergency Assistance.

The Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards Card offers some things that the Citi Diamond Preferred Card and Citi Dividend Platinum Select do not, the main thing being the rewards. This is something that consumers who make a lot of purchases with their credit card will want to consider. Each of these cards feature different benefits, and the right one for you will likely depend on how often you use the card and what purchases you use your card for.

If you are in need of consolidating your balances to one credit card you might want to choose the card without rewards. The Citi Platinum Select Card which does not feature a rewards program but does feature a longer balance transfer offer may be your best bet.
