Simon Gift Cards

Christmas shopping calls for the malls to be packed across the country during the days after Thanksgiving weekend.  The countries largest mall chain is considered to be Simon Malls.  Simon Malls also has the most popular gift card program where you can give this card to a loved one and let them spend with more choices then just one retail store.  Simon Malls has stores such as Victoria’s Secret, Express, The Limited, Hollister, and big department stores like Macy’s (formerly Foley’s in some states).

The Simon mall gift card works as a prepaid visa and is accepted from any merchant that accepts visa debit cards.  We urge you to watch the fees with this card and know not to go over the limit.  Transactions that exceed the remaining “Giftcard” balance will be declined which can lead to embarrassment at the register – so make sure you know the amount on the card.

Their customer support is open 24 hours / 7 days a week to help you find out your balance and fee information.  You may call 1-866-885-6320 to contact Simon’s gift card support.  This is also the number to call if the card is lost or stolen.

If you have a refund or exchange with the Simon gift card beware that it may not be added immediately.  First, you must bring your merchandise receipt and the Gift card to get a refund. If you receive a merchandise credit, the credit may not be added to the available funds on the Gift card for seven business days.

The fees added to the Simon gift card are not as bad as you see with many of the prepaid cards on the market but the buyer and cardholder should be aware.  The purchaser has to pay a $5.95 handling fee to obtain the card.   There is a monthly administration fee after the first 12 calendar months following the issue date of the card.  This $2.50 administration fee will be applied to the card monthly until the card expires or until the balance reaches $0.  If the Simon gift card does expire there is a $15 charge to replace it.

There are different terms for the different brands of cards that Simon produces:  Kravco Simon, Chelsea, Forum Shops, Mall of America Gift Cards, Stanford Shopping Center, or King of Prussia Gift Cards.  They also have the Longhorn Giftcards, Indiana University Giftcards and Purdue Giftcard brands.

You may purchase these cards at Simon.com or at over 170 mall locations.  It normally takes 3 to 5 business days for shipping through the USPS.
