How Do I redeem Thank You Redemption points?

There are many great rewards networks out there where you can charge up and then spend your points later. Citi offers its cardmembers of the Citi Diamond Preferred Rewards Card, AT&T Universal Rewards Card, and the CitiBusiness Card to be apart of this great redemption program. You may redeem for as little as 1,000 points with this program.

Some of the fun things you can claim are Family Hollywood Movie Money for 4,000 points including passes for the family and a concession coupon. We also noticed tickets to Las Vegas shows and concerts available. The Apple Ipod MP3 Player was priced at 50,000 points if you are a big spender but the Sony Sports Walkman was only 7,000.

You can earn up to 75,000 ThankYou Points during any calendar year with the AT&T Universal Rewards Card. You must of course use these points up before 5 years when they are due to expire. One neat thing is you may earn and redeem ThankYou Points on one or more current Card Accounts. This a great way to consolidate your rewards.

One thing to keep in mind is that Balance transfers, cash advances, convenience checks, returned purchases, finance charges and Card Account fees do not earn points.

Points earned on the ThankYou network can be redeemed at thankyouredemptions.com. You may also call 1-877-7REDEEM.

Citi Increases Thank You Points needed for redemption on gift cards

Citibank has had an enormous response from their Thank You points program over the last few years.  Because of this demand they have recently changed some point’s levels for gift card redemptions.  This makes Citi’s Thank You Points program compete directly with other similar programs that have the same value per dollar or below.

The new points are below (updated October 2006)

  • 6,000 Thank You points for a $50 gift card (was only 5,000)
  • 3,500 Thank You points for a $25 gift card
  • 9,500 Thank You points for a $75 gift card

Note that the Thank You Network was never truly a 1:1 redemption value into gift cards until the higher denominations. For example, a $5 gift card has always been 1000 points, a $10 gift card 1500 points, and a $25 gift card 3000 points before the recent changes.

Your best deal may be to redeem as an Applebee’s, Marriott, or steakhouse gift card to get more for your points.

Another thing to keep in mind is if you wish to redeem your Thank You points for travel you need to call to book with the fixed travel rewards.   If you do not call in you can use the variable airline rewards online.
