Las Vegas Hotels and Rewards Points

Planet Hollywood Las VegasWhen you think of Las Vegas Casinos you normally think of the in-house rewards programs such as Bally's Total Rewards. Lately, there has been a push from customers of hotel rewards programs including Crowne Plaza's Intercontinental Hotels Group and Marriott International. Those of us who are not full time gamblers or would rather get rewards points staying in Vegas a few times a year welcome these options. The Las Vegas strip for the last several years has offered only one resort that you can earn rewards and they recently were taken over by Harrah's/Bally's. The resort, Planet Hollywood, no longer offers special rights for Starwood holders and there was even a rumor they would offer them to Wyndham members but that turned out to be just a rumor.

There is hope because starting in 2011, their will be two new options on the strip. One of them being the opening of the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. This hotel will be working with Marriott Rewards to give upgrades, points, and offers aimed at Gold, Silver, and Platinum Marriott Rewards members.

Las Vegas offers lots of suites but the Terrace premium view at the Cosmopolitan may have the best view and offering on the strip. It opens in Mid-December 2010, and will have a nightclub, casino, and spa that are guaranteed to be breathtaking. Cosmopolitan Las Vegas

Intercontinental, also known as Priority Club Rewards program, who owns Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels worldwide will also offer points earning value on the strip. The Sand's owned resorts Venetian and Palazzo will have access to 2 million members of Intercontinental's database of hotel guests who are enrolled in their program.

What if you are in the Hilton HHonors or Starwood program?
You can still get points for staying off the strip at the Wyndham or the convention center Hilton Casino. The Las Vegas Hilton is walking distance to the large convention center and is connected (well sorta)
