The two most important 5% cash back cards are the Chase Freedom and Discover IT and if you have not yet signed up for their 3rd quarter bonus here is the info. The third quarter bonus categories are now in effect earning you 5x points on purchases at Kohl’s (in-store or online) and gas stations with Chase Freedom. You will most likely not max out of the $1,500 quarterly 5x limit at just gas stations with this card so you may look out for great deals at Kohl’s
We maxed out our 5% last quarter with both our Discover and Chase cards on the restaurants which is our favorite category because it includes bars and nightclubs as well plus we eat out a lot. Although we are excited to change over to Gas and now Amazon.com with the Discover It card.

Remember to activate your 5% bonus categories for the new quarter on Chase Freedom, Discover It, and US Bank Cash+. If you don’t, you will miss out on the bonus points on your purchases.
One of our favorite cards With Rotating 5% Bonus Categories is the Chase Freedom and April 1, 2015 through June 30, 2015, you can earn 5X Chase Ultimate Rewards points at restaurants. This is a great category as it includes most anything having to do with dining out and drinking including clubs and bars. I max out this category every year. So it makes it even better that Discover Card is offering the same category so I can max out both.
