I signed up easily using the sprint code with my Facebook login. You know I’m a huge fan of Uber ride share and Lyft but I am not about their surge pricing which to me is my biggest complaint. The Free market system is about to take care of this at least with airport to and from rides. Wingz provides door-to-door rides going to and from the airport with private transportation and flat rates.

A pro and a con to Wingz is that you must book at least 2 hours before your pickup time. You cannot do it last minute like you can with an Uber or Lyft but then again it’s nice to have something secure and someone waiting for you. In order to book a ride you must have the Airline and Flight number just like the rental car companies require or most people would like when they want to track when your plane comes in due to delays. It is similar to ridesharing apps in that you do not have to worry about tipping as it is already included. You have less a wait than an airport taxi and it all goes on your credit card to earn miles. Another great feature just added to Wingz is that it now works with TripIt to anticipate your airport transportation needs.

Wingz has recently redesigned the online app to match their redesigned ios and Android apps. You can do bookings online for rides a few hours away and they do not have to be from or to the airport anymore. It seems maybe the time has come for some consolidation in an oversaturated food delivery market. After pursuing an expansion plan that was highly-ambitious the Texas-based delivery service Favor is closing all of its operations outside of its home state.
Favor delivery service said it would pull out of six cities nationwide, ending all service outside of Texas. Its delivery service remains in 15 Texas cities, including Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. The cities Favor is exiting are Boston, Denver, Nashville, Charlotte, N.C. and Tempe and Scottsdale, Ariz. The startup, once in 22 U.S. cities and Toronto, say it will focus on becoming profitable.
There are so many players right now it’s hard to know when app to have in which city or restaurant. Some restaurants prefer Door Dash and others may like Postmates. Judging from a poll conducted from a popular rideshare blog they concluded the industry leaders right now for drivers are the following:
That should tell you right there that Favor is nowhere favored and not really talked about much outside of Texas where they are based. You can bet that Favor will get bought out in the near future from one of the bigger players and we see a lot more consolidation in the rideshare and delivery services.
One thing we really found interesting reading the recent rideshare survey from drivers in this poll above is that Uber Eats ranks so low compared to Postmates and Door Dash even though Uber drivers are already out on the road. You would think Uber would have a monopoly on the delivery category as well but they may have too much to focus on with regulations and such.
The year started out with a big surprise for many members of Alaska Air’s Mileage Plan. I did have some trouble getting the form to work online and process correctly so I had to call in to the customer service number for Mileage Plan but that only took a few minutes. It was absolutely worth the trouble for MVP status with Alaska Airlines and 10,000 free miles. With the 30% bonus on transferred miles from Virgin America I plan on transferring them all to Alaska.
